Over the course of my life, my art has evolved in much the same way
that my personality has. With time, it has been shaped by the important
people and experiences I have encountered. I was born in Mexico City
into a family of creative people who influenced me to become a curious,
imaginative person with a strong desire to create something unique.
As a teenager, my passion for art drove me to create papier mache figures
that I gave to friends and family. People seemed to like the figures
as much as I liked making them.
When I first emigrated to the United States, I lived in San Francisco.
There I was exposed to a new culture that I found very inspiring. I
was motivated by the positive response people there had to my papier
mache figures. I decided to incorporate the figures onto watercolor
paper
and create paintings that center around the three dimensional figures.
